Our first Kickstarter roundup was really popular, so we thought we would try to make it a semi-regular feature. Here are three more Kickstarter projects that have caught our eye.
Mileneal Prestige.
First up, we have a watch that comes with either a Swiss quartz or a Japanese automatic movement: the Mileneal Prestige. Starting at just $89 they are certainly affordable, and the choice of colours is very appealing. They seem on the “cost-effective” side, so may not be up to the quality of some other microbrands, but they are at least slightly different to the usual Daniel Wellington clones. We wish they’d spell Millennial right on the dial though!

A watch designed to last a lifetime. Nanok by Hamtun Watches
Next is a really good looking watch that reminds us somewhat of the new Rolex Oyster Perpetual series: the Hamtun Nanok. Although the name sounds like something Robin WIlliams would have said in Mork and Mindy, it;s a good-looking dress watch with a day and date feature that is currently doing rather well on Kickstarter. We think they are onto a winner with its understated good looks and the pricing is spot on for its feature list. Best of all, it’s created by a company here in the UK so you can back British business when you preorder a watch from Kickstarter.

Zew Box
Finally, something a little different: we’ve all heard of subscription clubs for records, coffee, washing tablets and a variety of other household goods. Well, now there’s a subscription club for watches: Zew Box. For your quarterly fee, you get a choice of Swiss quartz or an automatic watch and – apparently – there is no commitment so you can simply choose not to get that quarter’s watch. They’ve signed up a tonne of microbrands already and, although we thought it would never catch on, the campaign seems to be doing pretty well.
